In Rosciano di Fano ththere is an important eighteenth-century monastery that still houses monks and nuns belonging to the Camaldolese Congregation of the Order of St. Benedict.
\nThe hermitage has also an important library<\/strong> which houses over 1000 ancient volumes dating from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century, as well as a modern area which hosts about 5,000 volumes mainly dedicated to religion; it is possible to consult the books at home or take them into loan, the library is also the scene of numerous conferences and cultural events.
\nStill inside the hermitage is a pharmacy, a small shop in line with the tradition of the monks who studied medicinal herbs, that sells natural products such as medicines, jams, liqueurs, infusions and creams.
\nAs Camaldolese tradition monks also offer their hospitality to small groups<\/strong> who want to share with them the rhythms and the daily tasks of the monks who are subject to the rule “ora et labora”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
